What you can do.

If you are new to Wikipedia

Wikipedia is a worthwhile and interesting enterprise. You might want to take a look at it to see if you are interested in contributing. If you are you, you should spend some time familiarizing yourself with the conventions and try out a few edits.

Once you are conversant with the conventions and rules, you might want to engage in some of the contentious pages. Good starting points are articles such as the Christianity article, and the Criticism of Christianity article.

Associated with each article is a discussion page. Normally these are used by contributors to discuss edits before they are agreed. On pages such as the Christianity Talk Page, and the Criticism of Christianity Talk Page you will note how they are used to subvert any genuine contributions and keep the text sympathetic to the fervent believers' point of view.

You might want to engage some of the DWEECs to get some first hand experience of their techniques. Beware that it is extremely frustrating to be given the run around and you may well find yourself tempted to breach conventions and rules in an attempt to get your point across. Please resist the temptation, as each such breach will be spotted and your contributions will be discounted. Beware that most DWEECs are able to devote large amounts of time (often 12 hours per day) to keeping the Wikipedia text free of anything that offends their religious sensibilities.

What you should do each time you see a blatant example of DWEECs manipulating the rules to their own ends, is tell them plainly and directly that they are trying to enforce their personal point of view. The cumulative effect will alert the wider community to the fact that there is extensive abuse going on. When this has no effect then go to arbitration immediately.

One of the most blatant areas of abuse is the section on Persecutions, where you are more likely to find allies than elsewhere. If enough genuine, objective contributors work together it may prove possible to dislodge the DWEECs from their effective ownership.
